Cambodia  October 1st - 13th
In 2009 the  Cambodia Missions Team. went into a land that in many ways time has forgotten. Most of the people in this 3rd world nation live in the same way their parents, grandparents, great grandparents and as far back as their history takes them have lived. No indoor plumbing, no electricity, no clean water for many no suitable shelter. The team addressed some of the physical needs as well as the spiritual needs of the people. 99% have never heard of Christ and His love. They live under the oppression of fear and deception from false belief systems that have painted a picture of God as being mean, angry, and tyrannical that without appeasement from insatiable sacrifices he will torment you. There is no understanding of grace or forgiveness or love and acceptance. This in turn has caused a degradation of human life as witnessed in the civil war and killing fields of recent history. Our 4 teams helped meet the needs in the area of humanitarian relief in the villages, medical ministry at the orphanage, pastoral training and construction of a new kitchen at the Battambang Trade School. As you read through the bios on the team you will see that they are people just like you. My prayer is that one day every single member of COTR will have had a cross cultural missions experience to help fulfill the mandate of Jesus to go into all the world and share God's love. In Him,   |
