Take a few minutes and write out a few simple 3 month, 1 year and 5 year goals in all three categories. Read the following verses to see a bit of God’s perspective: 2 Corinthians 9:6-7, Galatians 6:6-10, Proverbs 12:1, Proverbs 13:22, 1 Corinthians 9:25, Romans 13:8, Psalms 37:21-22. 4. Discuss the concept of the indebted person being a servant to the lender. One of the most significant problems with debt is it presumes upon the future. Read Job 8:9 and James 4:13-16 and answer the following questions. a. What assurances do you have regarding the future? b. According to this passage what would borrowing actually be doing? 5. Is borrowing without repaying an option for the believer? (Psalms 37:21, Luke 16:1-8, Luke 19: 12-27) 6. Who was Jesus' audience when he told these stories? What message was He trying to communicate to each group? The Pharisees were muttering about Jesus eating with "sinners." Why was Jesus' parable a good response to these Pharisees? Consider the concept that both sons were lost.  How does this apply to us today? 5. Read Psalms 106:32-38.
