Missions begins with a heart that says yes to God. That heart can serve in Cambodia or Eswatini, encourage leaders in Ukraine or Mexico, support students in Graham, or care for families right here in the Snoqualmie Valley. It’s not about how far you go, but how fully you live out the love of Jesus.
Between South Africa and Mozambique lies Eswatini (formerly Swaziland). Here we partner with the Spirit & Truth Bible Church (STBC) and help them fulfill the needs of their community. Pastor Bhecki Gule is our main point of contact, the full-time pastor of STBC (unpaid) and a full-time teacher in his community. Our main mission here is to help create a self-sustaining community in Eswatini. In 2015 we helped purchase a tractor, so they are able to generate funds by renting the tractor out to pay Pastor Bhecki. About 50 percent of the population in Eswatini is infected with AIDS. This affects many of the orphans STBC provides for. STBC runs a feeding program for gogos (grandmothers who take in orphans) and the children they provide for.
Church on the Ridge partners with Transform Asia to support orphans in the David Center, impoverished children at the Joy Day Care (serving children living in the city dump), dorm ministries in Batnambong and Chhouk, women’s ministries in Campong Chhang and Batnambong, and a feeding program in Siisophon (one of the poorest villages in rural Cambodia).
Since the war in Ukraine, Slavic Ministries has been focused on meeting the needs of the over 4 million refugees. Since day one, their teams have been helping women, children, and the elderly to reach safety. They provide transportation, shelter, food, clothing, and medicine to those in need of help.
In September 2022, Church on the Ridge sent a team to help Slavic Ministries build tiny, insulated homes for those whose homes were destroyed by bombs and fire.
The Helping Hands Ministry (HHM) exists to show practical love to the Snoqualmie Valley. Seeing a real need for support and emergency relief of all kinds, HHM assists those who need a helping hand. Services include emergency food assistance, help with gas, rent, and utilities. HHM is approaching ministry with open eyes and open arms seeking to love those God has placed near us.Â
Â
HHM exists primarily online at helpsnovalley.org as a compassionate hub, connecting people with the resources offered in our valley. You can help and support the HHM by donating financially for support and compassion.
The Graham Women’s Campus of Adult & Teen Challenge is a residential, long term recovery and discipleship program for people suffering from drug and alcohol addiction.
Each December COTR sends a small, short-term (4 day) mission team to the L.A. Dream Center. This work serves the homeless population in a center that is a safeand secure place for the lost to see the love of Christ in real ways. Most are recovering from addictions through the strengthof the Holy Spirit and encouragement, discipline and on-site trainingin a Christian environment. The COTR team is in a supervised group that allows for us to serve in safe ways. It’s a great 1stmission trip to grow your faith and be part of making a diderencesharing the Gospel of Jesus.Consider being part of the team!
